BE 4910: Data Analysis and Modeling in Biological Engineering

For this project, I summarized my methods and findings from my analysis of survival probabilities for Adrenoleukodystrophy patients post-stem cell transplant. In doing so, I demonstrated how I used Bayesian updating in MATLAB with real patient data and highlighted key sections of my MATLAB code. I also shared the main conclusions of my analysis, especially regarding my marrow recipient's survival outlook.

BE 3340: Process Design

In my process design class, I completed an honors option project focused on an article titled "The COVID-19 Vaccine Race: Challenges and Opportunities in Vaccine Formulation." I introduced various vaccine types that were being developed at the onset of the pandemic, including mRNA, viral vector, and recombinant protein vaccines. Approaching this 2020 article with 2024 hindsight allowed for an interesting discussion of each vaccine type's benefits and disadvantages.

BE 2352: Quantitative Biology in Engineering

In this final presentation, I provided my classmates with a technical introduction to base editors. I explained the fundamental mechanisms of base editing, its advantages and limitations, current in vivo applications, and considerations for potential therapeutic use. While many of my peers were familiar with CRISPR, they were intrigued by the potency and precision of base editing.
